2025 Ford F-150 Towing Capacity

The 2025 F-150 brings a significant towing increase on the 3.5L EcoBoost, now rated at 14,000 lbs in RWD with the High Output version. That is a 700 lb jump over the 2024 model and makes the F-150 one of the highest-rated half-ton trucks on the market. The 4WD EcoBoost comes in at 13,500 lbs, also up from 2024. Ford achieved this by bumping the GCWR to 20,000 lbs on EcoBoost configurations.

The lineup simplifies compared to 2024, dropping from eight to six configurations. The Regular Cab option is gone, and all gas configurations are now SuperCrew. The 5.0L V8 sees a healthy bump to 11,600 lbs in RWD, up from the SuperCrew's previous rating. The PowerBoost Hybrid and Lightning carry over at 12,700 and 10,000 lbs respectively.

For buyers focused on maximum towing, the 2025 3.5L EcoBoost High Output in RWD at 14,000 lbs is the clear winner. If you need four-wheel drive, you give up 500 lbs for the 4WD hardware. The 2.7L EcoBoost at 8,200 lbs remains the entry point and handles most recreational towing needs including boats and smaller travel trailers.
