Ford Maverick Towing Capacity

The Maverick is Ford's compact truck and the entry point to Ford's truck lineup. It was designed primarily as an efficient daily driver rather than a work truck, which shows in the towing numbers: most configurations are rated at just 2,000 lbs. That limits the Maverick to very light duty towing like jet skis, small utility trailers, and lightweight popup campers.

The exception is the Tremor package, which doubles the capacity to 4,000 lbs. The Tremor uses the 2.0L EcoBoost with AWD and adds a beefier cooling system and tow-rated components that the base Maverick lacks. If towing is part of your plan, the Tremor is really the only Maverick worth considering.

The base Maverick comes standard with a 2.5L hybrid powertrain in front-wheel drive, which is the most fuel-efficient configuration but also the most limited for towing. The 2.0L EcoBoost is optional and available in both FWD and AWD. Despite having more horsepower than the hybrid, the non-Tremor EcoBoost trims are still capped at 2,000 lbs because they lack the Tremor's tow-rated hardware.
