The 2025 Pilot expands to seven configurations with reshuffled trim names. The LX is replaced by the Sport as the entry trim, available in both 2WD (3,500 lbs) and AWD (5,000 lbs). New additions include the EX-L and Touring, which slot between the Sport and the returning TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition.
Towing capacity is unchanged from 2024: 3,500 lbs for the lone 2WD trim and 5,000 lbs for all AWD variants. GCWR figures hold at 8,444 and 10,141 lbs respectively. The fundamentals of the Pilot's towing capability have not changed with the new model year.
Payload shows a wider spread with the new trims. The Sport AWD leads at 1,580 lbs, while the Touring sits at 1,490 lbs due to its heavier luxury equipment. The TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition continue at 1,420-1,445 lbs. If you are choosing between the 2024 and 2025 Pilot specifically for towing, the capability is identical.
