Jeep Gladiator Towing Capacity
Complete towing capacity specs for the Jeep Gladiator, broken down by year and trim. Every number comes from Jeep's official towing guides.
The Gladiator is Jeep's only pickup truck, built on the Wrangler platform with a five-foot bed bolted to the back. It is the only convertible pickup on the market and one of the few midsize trucks with solid front and rear axles, which makes it a genuine off-road machine but adds weight that affects towing and payload compared to independent-suspension competitors.
Towing capacity varies more dramatically across Gladiator trims than almost any other vehicle in our data. The base Sport without the Max Tow package is rated at 4,000-4,500 lbs, while the Sport with Max Tow jumps to 7,700 lbs. That 3,200 lb spread within the same model name means you cannot assume a Gladiator's towing capacity without knowing exactly which package it has. The Max Tow package adds a different axle ratio, upgraded cooling, and a Class IV hitch receiver that fundamentally change what the truck can pull.
Every Gladiator uses the 3.6L Pentastar V6 and comes standard with four-wheel drive. There is no engine or drivetrain choice to make. The towing variation comes entirely from the axle ratio, cooling package, and suspension configuration selected at the factory.
