2024 Ram 1500 Towing Capacity

The 2024 Ram 1500 is the last model year with the HEMI V8 powertrain that defined the truck for over a decade. The 5.7L HEMI in RWD tops the chart at 12,750 lbs, making it one of the highest-rated half-ton configurations on the market. In 4WD, the HEMI pulls 11,340 lbs, still strong but over 1,400 lbs less than the RWD version due to the heavier drivetrain.

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is the base engine at 7,690 lbs (RWD) and 7,500 lbs (4WD). The V6 handles moderate towing needs but leaves the Ram well short of its full-size truck competitors when heavy towing is required. The Tradesman HFE (High Fuel Efficiency) drops to 6,760 lbs in RWD, the lowest rating in the lineup, reflecting its fuel-economy-first gearing.

The TRX with its 6.2L supercharged V8 and 702 horsepower manages only 8,100 lbs. Like the Ford Raptor R, the off-road performance hardware adds weight that limits towing despite the massive engine output. The TRX was discontinued after 2024, making this the final year to get the supercharged Ram.
