The 2025 Ascent reshuffles the trim names but keeps the fundamentals intact. The Base trim is gone, and the Premium now includes the tow package at 5,000 lbs. This is a meaningful improvement over 2024, where the Premium was capped at 2,000 lbs. New trims include the Bronze Edition and Onyx Edition Touring, and all six 2025 configurations are rated at 5,000 lbs. There is no longer a 2,000 lb Ascent in the lineup.
Curb weights are nearly identical to 2024, ranging from 4,449 lbs (Premium) to 4,597 lbs (Limited). The Onyx Edition Touring at 4,588 lbs is a new addition that slots between the Touring and Limited.
The universal 5,000 lb rating across all 2025 trims simplifies the buying decision. Any 2025 Ascent can tow 5,000 lbs out of the box, so you can choose purely based on features and price without worrying about tow package availability. This is a significant improvement over the 2024 lineup where the cheapest trims were limited to 2,000 lbs.
