2025 Toyota Sequoia Towing Capacity

The 2025 Sequoia adds one new trim to the lineup: the 1794 Edition, which brings the total to eight configurations. The 1794 shares its specifications with the Platinum (9,010 lbs towing, 1,410 lbs payload, 6,150 lbs curb weight), differing only in interior styling with western-inspired leather and wood accents. This is the same pattern Toyota uses on the Tundra, where the 1794 is essentially a differently dressed Platinum.

All other specifications carry over from 2023 and 2024 without change. The SR5 RWD remains the towing leader at 9,520 lbs, the Capstone remains the lowest at 8,980 lbs, and every configuration in between holds its established ratings. The hybrid powertrain, GCWR (still unpublished), and payload figures are consistent with previous years.

For the best towing value, the SR5 continues to stand out. It tows the most, carries the most payload, and costs the least. The upper trims are luxury-oriented rather than capability-oriented; you are paying for interior appointments and features, not additional towing muscle. If towing is the primary use case, the SR5 is the trim to target.
