2023 Toyota Tundra Towing Capacity

Towing capacity for every 2023 Toyota Tundra trim, sourced from Toyota's official 2023 towing guide. Select your trim below to see exact specs.

The 2023 Tundra is the first full model year of the third-generation truck after its 2022 debut. This is the most complete Tundra lineup in the data, with 12 trim configurations spanning both the standard i-FORCE twin-turbo V6 and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid.

The headline number is 12,000 lbs from the SR5 in rear-wheel drive, the highest towing capacity of any Tundra year in our data. But look carefully at the SR trim: despite being the base model, it tops out at 8,300 lbs because it ships with a shorter axle ratio. If you are buying an SR specifically for towing, confirm the axle ratio before committing.

The hybrid trims (marked with i-FORCE MAX) add roughly 400-500 lbs of curb weight compared to their non-hybrid counterparts. The Limited Hybrid in RWD still tows 11,450 lbs, but the Capstone, the most luxurious and heaviest trim at 6,185 lbs curb weight, drops to 10,340 lbs. The Platinum and 1794 Edition share identical specifications in both standard and hybrid versions, reflecting the same underlying hardware with different interior appointments.
